Think Spring!

Spring has finally sprung!  In case you haven't heard , this spring and summer's hottest colors are cool !  

Yes, this season we will be seeing more subdued and relaxed tones, with a nod to pastels, and a bit of retro whimsy thrown in as well. 

 The Pantone Color Institute released its spring 2015 color collection: En Plein Air, featuring the top 10 women's colors in fashion this season:

These colors invoke a sense of relaxation and the escape from reality, and the color combinations are endless!  What I really enjoy about this palette is that there are two mainstay colors- Classic Blue and Glacier Gray, which most people can find in their closet already.  

 You can easily start with these basic colors and use them as a backdrop for the other colors in the palette.  Instead of buying all new clothes to stay on trend, simply use accessories in the palette colors to layer onto your basic pieces.  

So pull out that light gray top and those denim jeans, and dress them up with these accessories in amazing colors: 

This glass pearl bracelet features softer hues of Lucite Green and Toasted Almond featured in Pantone's 2015 top 10 women's colors.

This fun statement necklace features a variety of colors featured in the Pantone spring 2015 color palette.  This is the perfect accessory to pair with your favorite denim, and it doubles as both a necklace and a bracelet.

Social Media: Target 1000 followers!

I want to thank all of you who have been making great comments on social media about Bill's Beadery!  I have been working hard to grow my follower base organically.  Some small businesses pay for followers just to puff up the relevance of their profile, but my approach (albeit slow going!) has always been honest and up front, using a little elbow grease to find my base of special followers.  I would rather have 10 faithful followers who are genuinely interested in knowing me and my work than to have a million followers who are tagged to me for no substantive reason.  My followers join me because they like what I have to say, and they are true fans of my art or my entrepreneurial spirit. 

So, thank YOU!!!

Now friends, I am on a mission this year.  I am now at 987 twitter followers, and I only have 13 more followers to gain to reach my goal of 1000 followers!  

My Pinterest Page has seen a wildfire of activity, and I have been quickly growing in that social space too.  I just reached 100 followers!  Granted, I have 900 more followers to gain in order to reach my goal, but as long as people are pinning my jewelry and inviting me to post to their boards like Vintage Inspired Jewelry Boards, Best Buy Friends Beaded Designs , Etsy ,We Heart U, Etsy Treasuries Group Board,  and I Adore It, I know plenty more followers will jump on board.

Dressing for the Office

Lets add a bit of pizzazz to your everyday 
work attire. 

When it comes to accessorizing jewelry, options it can often come across somewhat daunting and overwhelming, especially if you are feeling indecisive.  

  

Two types of accessories are worn pending on how you style your hair: 



If you wear your hair up, go for a good statement earring that will be sure to dress up the look of your work attire. 

                                            

Remember to keep necklaces and earrings worn separately, unless you are dressing up for a fancy occasion.  For a stylish, everyday look, keep in mind that less is more.  

One accessory that easily pairs with just about any casual look is a great ring or bracelet. If you want to give off a hint of interest to ones outfit, rings are fun and flirtatious, while a bracelet will tie your look all together. 

As far as color contrasting goes, if you are wearing lots of neutrals, opt for an accessory piece that is bold and colorful, as opposed to something in a more subdued hue. If you are wearing a very colorful outfit, be sure to accessorize in modern, calming colors that act more neutral and serve to compliment rather than overpower.

Statement Necklaces at the Oscars!

Statement necklaces were THE fashion accessory at last night's Oscars!   Everywhere you turned stood a celebrity adorning a beautiful piece of statement jewelry in a huge variety of colors, shapes and sizes.  Cate Blanchett wore one of my personal favorites- this turquoise statement looked brilliant against a backdrop of elegant black.
